Google has just reminded me that today is the birthday of Camille Claudel, an amazing (female) sculptor.
She seems to have had a lot to deal with in her life, and may have suffered with mental illness, but she managed to create beautiful art and express herself, at a time (she was born in 1864) when just the idea of women doing so was odd.

Thanks Seonnie! She's a really interesting woman, I was in a show about her a long time ago. An example of a female artist who didn't get the credit she deserved, the story with Rodin is interesting! thanks for posting and reminding me of her!
