Hi Everyone,
I would like to share with you a book that I've been reading during quarantine: "Brilliant Freelancer: Discover the power of your own success" by Leif Kendall.
It's a great book for all kinds of freelancers, designed to help people start out, or keep going. I found great advices that will be very useful to build a more productive freelance life.
I'm sure you'll see fantastic tips about how to find the most profitable and manageable work, how to motivate yourself and get stuff done, how to build a client portfolio, etc.
Brilliant thank you! Nice thoughts, and along the lines of what we have been talking about- especially about understanding why your valuable
It was hard to find a TOP 3 but I would say these ones:
About "How to sell" - believe in your product (that’s you):
To understand why you’re valuable, think about the work you do, and why people hire freelancers like you. What are they trying to achieve? What purpose do you serve? It’s easy to value yourself when you understand the value your clients get from you.
“Give away everything you know, and you’ll receive back more than you ever had.”
Giving your knowledge freely will earn you many admirers: people who will respect you as an informed, intelligent individual; people who will feel indebted for the knowledge you shared; and people will admire your selflessness.
By giving knowledge, you also open yourself to receive knowledge. DON’T HOLD BACK! Even if your rival could replicate an element of your success, they can never be you.
Keep in touch
Clients who see work before its finished are less likely to be disappointed with the end result. Let them review your work at stages and talk them through your process. You may find it hard to hear a client doubting your work, but criticism and feedback is a big part of freelancing. Never scoff at your clients’ requests – but when their ideas are bad, mad or dangerous, politely explain why.
You can also find some apps suggestions to create your website; to help keeping your records organised, etc.
Brilliant Mariana, thanks for sharing, this will be really useful for everyone! What are the top 3 suggestions do you think?
