As we come to the end of 2019 and about to enter a new decade, who are the women that have inspired us in 2019?
Here are some inspiring women from around the world.....

I find the word ‘heroine’ tricky... majority of my heroines have been long-standing friends or family members, who have inspired and impacted on my life.
in 2019 I worked with many females who inspired me, particularly El, which in someways led to the development of this course!
Physical Fest was a wonderful time to celebrate and showcase some powerful and dynamic females; Rowena Gander stood out to me as one such female. Strong, challenging perception of gender and sexuality as well as being phenomenally talented!
One of my focuses in 2019 was class and how this impacts on opportunities, particularly for females, and the playwright, Cash Carraway, is one female who stood out and I would tentatively call a heroine of 2019.
The playwright
Cash Carraway, 38, is an award-winning playwright and author of Skint Estate, her memoir of being a working-class woman below the poverty line in modern Britain. Her play, Refuge Woman – about state violence and poverty porn – was nominated for Best Innovation at the British Journalism Awards in 2018.
This ones a really tough one! I feel supported and enthused by so many wonderful women daily in work and personal life.
A constant highlight last year was Sharon Van Etten for me, 'Known for complex songs about the dark side of love, the acclaimed singer-songwriter is back with a fifth album that explores synths, rock anthems, mental health and motherhood'. She was the soundtrack for the big stuff that happened last year.

Brilliant, thanks Alex- definitely going to check out Jane's workshops! x
Gina Martin is such a boss! Probably one of my heroines for this year is Lizzo for being unapologetic about her figure, her music, and her authentic self. Claire & El for their continued support defo, both professionally and personally. I did a comedy workshop in Jan ‘19 with Jane Postlethwaite and she encouraged me to try stand up. Since then I’ve done like 60 odd gigs?! If you wanna do comedy workshops (not just stand up), I’d highly recommend Jane because it’s all womxn and she even curated an all-femxle led podcast with 20-odd of us making sketches etc... coming out this year sometime. X
I must say both El and Claire have inspired me to persue my dreams this year along with the rest of our Wicked Women My tattoo artist Sam has also supported me so much this year I couldn't be more grateful
